🌅 Chhath Puja 2026 at Oso Lake Scout Camp
We are delighted to invite our community to come together for Chhath Puja 2026, a sacred festival dedicated to Surya Dev (the Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya, celebrating nature, gratitude, purity, and the life-giving power of the Sun.
This year, we hope to create a special experience that brings our community closer to the natural beauty around us. Celebrating Chhath beside the lake and under the open sky provides a meaningful opportunity to experience the festival in an atmosphere of peace, togetherness, and spiritual reflection.
We invite families, friends, vraties, children, volunteers, and community members to join us in honoring this beautiful tradition, strengthening our cultural connection, and passing the spirit of Chhath to the next generation.
📅 Chhath Puja 2026 Dates
🌿 Location: Oso Lake Scout Camp
Our venue is Oso Lake Scout Camp, located in 21131 Los Alisos Blvd., Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688.
Oso Lake Scout Camp offers a beautiful and peaceful natural setting surrounded by lush greenery, open spaces, walking trails, and a serene lake. The scenic surroundings provide a wonderful environment for families and community members to come together and celebrate Chhath Puja close to nature.🌅 Chhath Puja in Nature
Chhath Puja is one of the most beautiful celebrations of our connection with nature.
The festival brings devotees outdoors—to the water, beneath the open sky, and directly before the setting and rising Sun.
At Oso Lake, we envision a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere where families and community members can gather beside the lake, surrounded by the beauty of nature, to offer Arghya to Surya Dev.
The reflection of the setting Sun across the lake, the peaceful surroundings, the fresh air, and the gathering of families together can create a truly meaningful Chhath experience.
These elements beautifully represent the spirit of Chhath Puja.
About Us
BJ Bandhu is a loving, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural and charitable family dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Bihar-Jharkhand culture in the Greater Los Angeles area, California.
Founded in 2022, BJ Bandhu was born out of a shared dream — to create a home away from home where traditions are not only kept alive but passed down with love to the next generation. We strive to build an inclusive and vibrant community where Bihar-Jharkhand roots flourish through festivals, art, and meaningful human connections.
From the vibrant celebration of Chhath Puja — our most cherished and soulful celebration — to the spiritual strength of Holi and the colorful joy of Makar Sankranti, Hanuman Jayanti, Durga Puja, and Diwali, each festival becomes a family gathering filled with devotion, laughter, and the warmth of shared memories. In every event and every interaction, we lift each other up — helping one another in times of need, celebrating one another’s joys, and making sure everyone feels like family.
While our foundation is deeply anchored in Bihari customs, BJ Bandhu embraces diversity and warmly welcomes everyone to be part of this journey — because at our heart, we are one big family where culture meets love, traditions unite hearts across generations, and helping hands make the community stronger.
Vision
BJ Bandhu envisions being a nurturing platform where the next generation stays deeply connected to their Bihari heritage and traditional values. Through a rich tapestry of cultural, literary, and social events held year-round, we create meaningful opportunities for children and families to experience the essence of Bihar and Jharkhand — from timeless folk tales and soulful music to vibrant dance forms and age-old rituals. Our vision is to preserve and pass on Bihari traditions, instill pride in our cultural identity, and inspire the young to cherish and carry forward their roots while thriving in a modern world.
